The last step is the glueing on the Crane card stock, drawing the wreath and writing Merry Christmas. I hope your season of joy, family and fun is off to a great start!

Completed Christmas card

The first step to this years Christmas card was to write out scripture in white ink, then rub blue pastels into the arches text wove. Second step, spray with a fixative and cut into squares.

A calligraphic mystery. This is the beginning of a card and I will complete it after Thanksgiving. In the mean time, have a wonderful, blessed Thanksgiving!

This quote is from Monet "My garden is my most beautiful masterpiece. The drawing is a flower from the pea family and colored pencil, pen and gouche. I think the flower is from the pea family but I also painted this on canvas which is below. Enjoy! And heres to gardening, flowers and dirt!

I greatly admire the painter Claude Monet. I hope someday and soon to go paint in his garden. I often use his quotes in my calligraphy. So this is my homage to him and his paintings!

Magnolias are beautiful, large flowers and I paint or draw them often. I continue to learn and educate myself in acrylic painting. Allison is the best teacher.

This painting is from a photo taken in New Mexico. Allison Watson is my painting teacher and I have been taking lessons for a year now. I am pleased with my progress!

Calligraphy play....Copperplate capitals with some roses for embellishment! These are always great on wedding envelopes.

These are not all my pieces of calligraphy......during the conference many of the teachers would set up a table and demostrate. Many would write your name. The calligraphy with the black background was written by Victoria and Micheal Sull. Also, during the conference we created many flourishes. Now, the flourish is mine and I will post more later.

The Association of Master Penman Educators and Teachers of Handwriting held its annual convention in Orlando, Florida. The following are a few examples of calligraphy. It was a week of beautiful writing and inspiration from fellow calligraphers.

Summer Sunflower

Sunflowers are my all time summer favorite. I have painted and drawn three sunflowers in the last week. I will post more sunflowers later this week.
